What is this?

Greasemonkey is a plugin (referred to as an 'extension') for the Firefox browser. It allows you to change how your favorite pages behave and look. There are many scripts that have already been written, and if you know javascript you can easily create your own! I myself, have written a few Greasemonkey scripts. I submit all my scripts to userscripts.org and host them here also. My profile at userscripts.org can be found here.

Snakenet Forum Info Panels

Snakenet has hidden user info panels on posts. This script defaults them all to shown. Based on an Opera Userscript by Cygnus_.

DevShed Butler

Devshed has a lot of good tutorial information on it, however, it also has an illogical layout with the body of the article beneath the scroll. This script removes a lot of the advertising, making more space for the content and it moves the (huge and iritating) info panel for the article to the end of the article. [@userscripts]

W3Schools Butler

Removes "product spotlights" and the irritating adverts on the right column of w3schools.com one of the best resources for information on web languages around. The script also expands the content to the full page width. [@userscripts]

LJ Ads Butler

The popular blogging/journaling service, LiveJournal, recently introduced an account type that displays adverts. The ads butler takes them away again. [@userscripts]

Hide Sitepoint Sponsor

Sitepoint.com is a great resource for tutorials and help with various aspects of designing, developing, running, supporting and promoting web sites. However, some of the adverts are a bit annoying. This script takes them away. [@userscripts]

ZDNet Blog Butler

ZDNET Blogs are professional computer journalists blogs. Sometimes they make good reading, but, the user experience is heavily spoiled by excessive cross promoting and advertising. This makes that go away. [@userscripts]

Crap Scripts

Bloglines Butler

(This doesn't seem to work anymore, and I can't be arsed to fix it). Removes feedburner adverts from your feeds at bloglines. Also removes feedster adverts from your feedster search subscriptions. [@userscripts]

Civ Glossary

A pretty horrible script that translates some abbreviations over on the CIVFanatics Forums so that newbies can understand better. [@userscripts]
